GIANT MONSTERS


1. GODZILLA!!!!

Godzilla is a monster created by a hydrogen bomb. The  bomb was tested on an island that happened to have a surviving batch of dinosaurs. The only one that seemed to survive was Godzilla. Godzilla is a mix between a water and land animal. Godzilla developed tremendous size and radioactive breath by the radioactivity of the bomb. Godzilla also developed inviability,  making him almost impenetrable. But when he was killed, he somehow was able to regenerate every particle of his body. Even the smallest ash pile could be the start to a new Godzilla.

Godzilla was angry at mankind for what they did to him. He was determined to kill anything that stood in his way. He only had one other determination, to destroy all nuclear particles.

Godzilla had destroyed two boats already, leaving the Japanese clueless. All until a reporter named Steve Martin was assigned to check out an island where Godzilla seemed to be a legend. One night Godzilla attacked during a storm. After that he attacked the island in broad daylight. This is where we get the first glimpse at him.

Steve Martin goes to Japan to report of the monster, when Godzilla attacks Tokyo. Godzilla destroys everything in his path. He returns to the sea for some reason, but he comes back again! The Japanese try to fight back, but it's no use. Godzilla destroys half of the Japanese army. Godzilla retreats once more.

But the doctor doesn't want to use it, but he is forced to. They find Godzilla in the water. They send down two people into the water, one of them the doctor, where they will set the weapon. They fire it, but the doctor refuses to escape to the surface. He died along with Godzilla.

Yet Godzilla comes back for some reason, where they call him Gigantis, but they go back to calling him Godzilla.

Note: Godzilla is called Gojira by the Japanese, a mix between the American word Gorilla, and the Japanese word for whale, kujira. Why? Because Godzilla originally was supposed to be a mix between multiple monsters.



2. ANGUIRUS

These are the versions of Anguirus.

Anguirus is a quadrupedal giant or irradiated dinosaur that resembles an ankylosaurus. His head can resemble that of a ceratosaurus. He has several horns on the top of his head and a single horn above his nose. His face is long and drawn out and has rows of long, jagged teeth, like a crocodile. His caracoace is studded with long, sharp spikes. Anguirus's tail is covered with spikes and makes up most of his body length. His hind limbs are longer than his forelimbs, and he can stand up on them to his full height, though he generally walks upon all fours. Anguirus has a particularly strange brain, for he has not one but five, one in his head which controls all of his organs, and one above each one of his limbs, each brain most likely controls the limb they are above. This gives Anguirus an advantage in battle, for he can react much quicker than most Kaiju. Anguirus first appears in the Showa continuity as brown with yellowish spines, these colors are later changed in the Millennium series to light gray, with orange spikes and horns.

Anguirus survived the same bomb that created Godzilla, and probably has the same mind: to destroy anything that gets in his way. Anguirus battles Godzilla in Godzilla raids again, also called Gigantis the fire monster. He is first sighted fighting with Godzilla on an Arctic island, probably Godzilla's birthplace. Anguirus is described to somehow be related to Godzilla. Anguirus battles Godzilla once more at Tokyo, and battles for days and nights. Anguirus decides to retreat finally, when Godzilla blew the most powerful breath he has at Anguirus's soft part. Anguirus is supposed to be dead, but he appears in Destroy all Monsters. He joins with Godzilla with the other monsters to beat king Ghidorah. Probably afterward he figures how good of a leader Godzilla is, so he becomes his companion and dedicates his life to help Godzilla. Anguirus was Godzilla's friend in Godzilla vs. Gigan and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. He appears in Godzilla raids again, Destoy all Monsters, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla: Final wars.

3.BARAGON

These are the versions of Baragon.

Baragon was originally in Frankenstein conquers the world, also called Frankenstein vs. Baragon. But he also appeared briefly in Destroy all Monsters. He was mentioned mostly in words. He was only showed on monster island. He was supposed to appear in  Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, but he was replaced with Anguirus, because his suit was in bad shape. But when we thought that was the end of Baragon, he appears in Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters all out Attack, also called GMK for short. Why isnt't he in the name? I'll tell you. Baragon had no special powers in this movie. He originally had a glowing horn, that was used to help him dig underground. He could also blow fire. But in GMK, they only let him dig underground without the glowing horn, and just jump really high. Plus, they only show him as weak. He dies before he can join the end fight. I think that either they didn't put him in the name because he was just the weak guy, or because he wasn't at the end battle. That's not really fair. I think he should have escaped somehow to join the battle at the end. But no!!!!!! Baragon is one of my favorite characters and you have to treat him like that? In the

Showa series, Baragon burrowed underground and survived while all (or most) other dinosaurs died. He adapted to the environment and lived successfully. When the sounds of a nearby factory disturbed and awakened Baragon, he emerged from the underground and attacked it. He next appeared at Shirane and destroyed the village. He next emerged at a farm, where he ate the livestock. During these attacks, Baragon was not seen, so a mutated human being called Frankenstein was blamed. But there was a person who survived the destruction of the factory who claimed there was a second monster and that it was the one that attacked the factory. When a small group of scientists searched for Frankenstein, an explosive detonated and Baragon woke up from his sleep. He appeared from the ground and saw the scientists. Baragon tried to eat the humans, but Frankenstein suddenly appeared to protect the scientists from Baragon. The two fought in a climatic battle and Frankenstein successfully defeats Baragon by choking him and breaking his neck. But in the end, a fissure appears beneath the huge giants. The ground cracks and the two fall inside.

In the Millennium series, Baragon reappeared in the 2001 film, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack as one of three ancient guardian monsters. (The other two are Mothra and King Ghidorah.) When Godzilla is reincarnated as the physical manifestation of the souls of the people who died in the Pacific during WWII, Baragon, Mothra, and King Ghidorah were summoned to protect the nation from the threat. Baragon was the first of the three guardians to confront Godzilla. Although he tried his best, Baragon was not strong enough and was defeated by Godzilla's atomic ray. Baragon does not have his tunneling heat ray in the Millennium series, but he was still able to burrow and had his extraordinary jumping abilities.

4GAMERA

In the Shōwa era films, Gamera was a gigantic, prehistoric species of tortoise who fed on flames, reawakened by an accidental atomic blast in the Arctic during a dogfight between US and Russian fighters. The film mentioned that Gamera had appeared before, from pictographs depicting Gamera, and warning of his ability of flight. Gamera's original origins are largely unknown in the Showa era, as there is no indication that he was a mutation in his original film. Gamera was already capable of flight and breathed true flames, rather than radioactive energy when he was reawakened. And while it was known that he fed on flames (and even radioactive materials such as plutonium, much like his counterpart, Godzilla), no explanation for these powers was given. It was also left unexplained as to why he attacked most of humanity in general, yet spared the life of (and indeed actively saved) a young boy who became central to the original film's plot. This later led to him being referred to as the 'friend to all children in the world' in future films.
In the Heisei era films, however, the origin of Gamera was retconned, giving him a much more directly heroic themed origin: A bio-engineered guardian of the Earth created by the lost city of Atlantis with the purpose of defeating Gyaos, another ancient creation capable of killing all human life. The giant turtle is found floating adrift in the Pacific, encased in rock and mistaken for an atoll. Within the rock, investigators discover a large monolith explaining Gamera's purpose, as well as dozens of magatama, which allow a psychic link between Gamera and humans. In the third film of the Heisei era, an undersea graveyard is found with many other Gamera skeletons, suggesting Gamera was not the only member of his kind created by Atlantis. One character in the film refers to these skeletons as "beta versions" of Gamera, possible failures in Atlantis' attempts to create the final version. Another scene provides Gamera with a link to Asian folklore, with a character relating a story in which a giant tortoise is considered the Guardian of the North, with separate, rival creatures defending the East, West, and South.
Gamera's continuity was rebooted again in the first (and currently only) film of the Millennium era. The film begins with the "original" Gamera (whether this is intended to be the Gamera from the earlier Shōwa era series is unknown and unlikely, as the film mixes elements from both continuities) sacrificing himself to destroy a flock of Gyaos birds sometime in the 1970s. Decades later, a young boy finds a strange, glowing red rock near his home, with a small egg lying on top of it. A fairly normal looking baby tortoise soon hatches from the egg, but begins to grow at an alarming rate. The turtle, now named "Toto" by his child owner, also quickly develops Gamera's classic abilities to breath fire and fly, and attempts to ward off another attacking monster but is too weak to succeed. Only after eating the glowing rock found with its egg does the new Gamera achieve its full power, defeating its enemy and flying off into the sky.
5.KAMOEBA

Showa

After Ganimes was destroyed, Yog turned to a rock turtle and made Kamoebas. It also made another Ganimes. But bats fled from a nearby cave and made Yog lose control of the monsters. They battled each other up the mountain in the center of the island and both fell into the volcano, destroying themselves and Yog forever.

Millennium

The gigantic chelonian Kamoebas, long after his first appearance in the 1970 film Space Ameoba, made a brief appearance in the film Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. to the surprise of many fans. In the film, news agencies and the army swarmed to a small part of the coast of Japan. A dead Megalo matamata, or Kamoebas, had washed ashore in the night. As it was investigated they noticed large rips in its neck. It had been killed by none other than Godzilla.

That's not fair! I love Kamoeba! Dude, you guys are so lame. Why don't you plan Ebirah to appear on the shore. That's just lame to put a monster in 1 movie, then  have him exitingly reappear, but he's dead? I love Toho, but sometimes they just bully the little guys.
6:ORGA

Millennian was an ancient alien species that crash landed on Earth millions of years ago, where it was converted into anti-matter. The creature, however, retained the ability to control its ship through telepathy. Over time, the UFO became encased in rock at the bottom of the sea where it lay dormant for countless years.

Near the dawn of the new century, CCI (Crisis Control Intelligence) came across the dormant rock structure and attempted to hoist it out of the water with balloons. The Millennian, however, took control and hoisted up the ship out of the water on its own. The rock mass then stayed on the waters' surface, only moving in order to stay adjacent to the sun so it could bathe in its light, until it was able to scan a human to try and find the needed genetic materials it would require in order to maintain its form. The humans, though, proved to be of no use, so the rock took to the skies in search of other organisms.

The UFO eventually came across Godzilla who, when scanned, was seen to be the host of the Organizer G1, which the Millennian figured would help aid it in maintaining its normal form. The UFO attacked and defeated Godzilla, but only to crash into the water nearby. Responding to the appearance of the UFO, Japan's Self Defense Force went into action in an attempt to restrain the UFO by roping it with steel cables. Their attempt was in vein, however, as the UFO quickly freed itself at dawn.

The alien craft then proceeded to head for Tokyo, were it rested atop a building. The Millennian then attempted to assimilate all the data in the metropolitan city with invisible tendrils, which wove their way into the building. Come nightfall, the SDF again attempted to deal with the UFO, this time planting mines at the top of the building where the craft rested. The mines failed to deal with the Millennian, though, as the creature's craft was unscathed from the explosion. In retaliation, the extra-terrestrial being destroyed the remainder of the building. Shortly afterwards, the UFO was greeted by Godzilla, the creature whom contained the genetic make up the Millennian needed. The UFO viciously attacked Godzilla, and was able to subdue the monster long enough to extract the needed genetic code, after crushing Godzilla with a building.

After obtaining the Organizer G1, the Millennian slowly emerged from its ship in a ball like form, which quickly changed to resemble its true form. Unfortunately, the Millennian failed to anticipate the horrific side-effects of the radiation spawned cells, as the creature begun to mutate uncontrollably before collapsing to the ground in a hulking mass.

The final result of the Organizer G1 on the Millennian, Orga, was a mammoth compared to the slender appearance of the original alien. Equipped with giant claws and a large protruding back, the monster had mutated into a state that was even larger than Godzilla. Despite its menacing appearance, though, the King of the Monsters quickly rushed in and attacked the hulking monster. Orga seemed confused at these turn of events, either due to shock from its own transformation or a general degrading of its intelligence, as the nuclear saurian was able to land several blows before its alien opponent finally grasped the situation. Once up to speed, the creature fought back ferociously, attempting to fend off the onslaught from Godzilla. Orga called on its nearly destroyed ship to aid it in battle, but the King of the Monsters made quick work of it with another blast of his atomic ray. With the UFO decimated, Godzilla continued to strike the alien being, but the damage inflicted was quickly overcome by the creature's healing factor, a trait that was given to the beast thanks to the properties inherited from its rival's genetic material.

When it looked like Godzilla was running out of options, Orga shifted its strategy as it completely opened its mouth. With its jaws stretched to a drastic degree, the monster then begun to withdraw its own stomach in order to consume its foe. Godzilla seized the opportunity and charged head first into Orga's mouth. The brutish alien then slowly started to consume the creature. As Godzilla slipped further into the beast’s stomach, Orga continued to mutate. Its color slowly started to change green while rows of jagged dorsal fins emerged from its back. The creature managed to grow a staggering height of 70 meters before Godzilla finally unleashed his Inner-Radiation while inside Orga's mouth. Unable to react in time, Orga was helpless in his current situation as the powerful blast disintegrated the monster's upper half, killing the former Millennian.

7. BATTRA

Twelve thousand years ago, the spirit of Earth created Battra (A.K.A the Black Mothra). Battra was created to destroy a device built by an ancient civilization to control Earth's climate. Battra began to do his job well beyond it's purpose and Mothra was forced to intervene. There was a huge battle between Mothra and Battra. When Mothra finally won, Battra was laid to rest in the North Sea, while Mothra survived in the mountains with the Cosmos. Unlike his benevolent twin Mothra, Battra sees humanity as a blight on earth, and won't stop until humanity is removed from the planet. It's because of this that Battra came into conflict with Mothra, who seems intent on protecting humanity.

Thousands of years later, Battra was awoken by a meteorite in Siberia. Battra swam to the coast of Japan and burrowed, reappearing and attacking Nagoya. The JSDF fought Battra but were no match, and Battra left a wrecked city behind as he burrowed again. Battra appeared in the waters off the archipelago of the Philippines, where Godzilla and Mothra were battling. Battra engaged Godzilla, who was the bigger threat. The two monsters battled down to the sea floor in the Philippine Trench, where a volcanic eruption supposedly killed them. But Battra and Godzilla lived on, appearing near Mount Fuji, with Godzilla exiting an erupting volcano and Battra emerging from the ocean's depths. Upon metamorphosing from his larval form, he flew to Tokyo to exact his revenge on Mothra. The sinister moth seemed to have an upper hand against his less violent counterpart, but soon, in the heat of the battle, Godzilla appeared. Mothra and Battra teamed up to combat Godzilla together in defense of both Earth and humankind. Once Godzilla was defeated, Battra and Mothra carried him out to sea. However, Godzilla, still conscious, killed Battra by attacking him with an atomic ray at point-blank range while he was being transported. Godzilla and Battra dropped into the ocean below. For giving Battra a final farewell, Mothra flew around in a circle, creating a glyph of friendship to her beloved companion. 8. MANDA

Manda was a dragon that lived in the sea and was the guardian of Mu, a kingdom underwater. When the warship Gotengo attacked, Manda fought it and wrapped his body a round the ship and trying to crush it. But Gotengo charged electricity and unleashed it on Manda, badly shocking him. Manda unwrapped himself and tried to swim away. Gotengo chased after, and fired the Absolute Zero Cannon, which froze Manda.
Then Manda was taken to the man-made island, Monster Island. In 1999, aliens called Kilaaks came to Earth and took control of Manda and the other monsters of the island, and made them attack major cities around the world until the people of the world freed them from the mind control. Then the monsters were sent to fight King Ghidorah. Manda did not fight in the battle, and watched from the sidelines with Varan and Baragon. After King Ghidorah was defeated, Manda and the other kaiju returned to Monster Island.
Manda also made a very brief appearance in the Godzilla film, Godzilla's Revenge, but only in a brief glimpse of recycled stock footage.

Millennium series

In the Millennium series, Manda attacks Normandy, when the Gotengo comes to stop it and attacks Manda. At first, Manda was able to constrict himself around the Gotengo and pull the warship further and further into the depths of the water, severely damaging it. However, the crew spotted an underwater volcano and charged into it, with Manda stuck on their ship. Unable to withstand the heat, Manda was forced to uncoiled himself and swam away. The Gotengo managed to get out of the volcano, but Manda charged at the ship. However, the Gotengo turned around 180 degrees and fired the maser cannon to freeze the weakened Manda, and then rammed into him with its powerful drill, breaking it into pieces.
GFW Manda's feature is combined by multiple Chinese and Japanese dragons, he is also combined with the face similar to 1963 Manda's. His body length is twice as long than his body was in the Showa series and instead of having feathers Manda has spikes growing out of his back and arms, with the extent of having a beard growing from his chin and having barbs growing from the sides of his body.



9. MEGANULON

Meganulon (メガヌロン, Meganuron?) were Mesozoic giant insects reanimated by mining operations in Kitamatsu village, Kumamoto Prefecture, in the 1956 kaiju film Rodan. (Presumably they are, like the titular daikaiju, from the Cretaceous Period.) The car-sized insects, which resembled overgrown earwigs, slaughtered several men before some were killed in a mine shaft. A mine collapse followed, separating engineer Shigeru from fellow miners and police. Before finding his way out of the mine, Shigeru witnessed the hatching of Rodan, who began to devour the comparatively tiny Meganulon.

A killer from ancient times, the Meganulon were a breed of giant insects which escaped extinction by burrowing themselves deep into the Earth's crust. Once there, the beasts stayed locked beneath the surface for millions of years. However, nuclear tests awoke the ancient horrors, who descended on a local mine. The creatures' first victims were a pair of miners, called Yoshi and Goro, who were mercilessly hacked at by the monsters' mammoth pincers. It wasn't long before Yoshi's body was recovered by his fellow workers, while Goro's whereabouts were still a mystery. An investigation was immediately set into place by the authorities, trying to resolve both the murder weapon and the murderer. The authorities returned to the mine shaft where Yoshi was uncovered, dispatching a police officer and two miners, to try and locate Goro. However, the three meet a untimely demise at the claws of another Meganulon that is hiding below the water which has leaked into the area. The added death toll and still missing whereabouts of Goro prompt suspicion that the missing miner is in fact behind the series of killings. A hunch which is quickly dismissed as one of the Meganulon ventures into a local village to attack a couple, Kio and Shigeru, who flee to get help. Shortly after, the police arrive on the scene and ineffectively try and shot the giant insect down while it bids a hasty retreat back to its lair. The police are quick to pursue, but their weapons pose no threat to the thick carapace of the ravenous insect, whose deadly pincers take the lives of two officers who advance too close. The Meganulon then returns to the mine shaft, killing more innocents along the way. With the killer finally revealed, and the seriousness of the situation grasped, the self defense force is quickly dispatched to the area to exterminate the threats. Armed with mountable machine guns, a few regiments of soldiers, along with Shigeru, march into the mine to hunt down the creatures. While searching for the Meganulon, Shigeru uncovers Goro's body, which had been dragged deep into the shaft. There is little time for grieving, however, as Meganulon start to emerge to fend off the intruders. The military shells the creature with machine gun fire, but to no avail as the carapace, once again, deflects the bullets. Out of options, Shigeru hitches a ride on a nearby mine cart, driving it down the shaft and directly into one of the Meganulon, killing the beast. With a small victory claimed, Shigeru attempts to retrieve Goro's body, but ends up being trapped as another Meganulon emerges just as a landslide blocks his escape. The large rocks continue to pummel the area, knocking Shigeru out and killing the giant insect.
Eventually, the young miner awakens, as Shigeru opens his eyes only to realize that he is now trapped in the Meganulon's lair. Even with the ravenous insects all around, Shigeru's attention is diverted to another object in the room: a mammoth egg. It's quickly discovered that the Meganulon weren't the only creatures awakened by the atomic tests, as the egg hatches to reveal a gigantic pteranodon called Rodan. The red hued monster flaps its still developing wings, as it spies the killer insects that are situated all around it. The beast wastes no time, and quickly begins to devour the nearby Meganulon, as Shigeru can only stumble backwards at the sickening sight. Once full, the infant monster spreads its wings and takes flight, leaving behind it the remnants of the once horrific insects while Rodan would soon prove a far more deadly adversary to the entire globe.

The 2000 Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Megaguirus featured Megaguirus (メガギラス, Megagirasu?), an extinct species of dragonfly, based on the Meganulon, as Godzilla's adversary. According to the film, Meganula (also Meganuera) and Megaguirus had originated in China during Carbiniforous times. The insects follow an odonatan life cycle of which the Meganulon is the nymph stage. After a hemimetabolic interim the winged Meganula moult and take flight. Megaguirus was in fact the chosen queen among the colony and allowed to grow to massive size. As such, she is one of few decidedly female creatures of the genre. Megaguirus's decendant was created when a weapon that would send Godzilla into a black hole created a time-space distortion. This allowed a Meganula from Earth's distant past to arrive on Earth and lay an egg which would later be discovered by a young boy and then hatch into a Meganulon. Megaguirus has numerous abilities. At top flight speed she vanishes into a blur, enabling her to surprise an opponent from an unexpected quarter. This high-speed flight also produces high frequency sonic waves capable of shorting out nearby electrical equipment. Her sharp wings can even cut steel and concrete. Her large abdomen ends in a vicious stinger used to pierce into an opponents hide and drain energy from it. During this process, the opponent is incapable of launching any additional energy-based attacks upon her.

Swarm life

The Swarm usually starts from one large egg that houses thousands, possibly tens of thousands, of eggs. They then hatch into the larval form, the Meganulon. After eating enough food they shed their skin and become the imago form, the Meganula. This form flies far away and lays another egg, starting the process all over again. Although the Meganulon and Meganula do most of the work, they must have a queen. So the Meganula begin to gather energy and deliver it to the chosen Meganulon. The Meganulon will absorb the energy and grow into the cocoon form of a Megaguirus. After absorbing enough energy the cocoon will burst open and reveal a Megaguirus.

10.MEGAGUIRUS

 Rose tinted eyes peered into the black depths of the blanketing waters of Tokyo. A maw, laced with dagger teeth, roared into the seas. Roped muscles struggled their bulbous weight from the shedded exoskeleton shell. The birth of a new demon was to lay against the frailty of man's mind. Wide eyes watched as the surface of the glossy river exploded. Rising from the showering droplets of rain the mammoth queen, Megaguirus, showed itself. Immediately the insect god began its destructive rampage. Flapping its leathery wings at blinding speeds, the monster dashed through the city. Buildings crumbled, and windows crashed. The wake of death widened against the raven wings of the bug. After leveling what reviled it's statue, the creature left the heart of the city, and traveled to the waterfront.
Days passed before the inevitable war of Megaguirus and Godzilla waged. The aerial combatant threatened the ground-based reptile with defeat on several occasions. The incredible speed and energy draining tail, wearied on the King's defenses. Quick strikes, and hurling plasma energy, toppled the Japanese nemesis like a ton of bricks. Only through sheer luck of catching the insect's stinger in his toothy jaw, did Godzilla regain the upper hand. Time flashed by, as he tore away the syringe like appendage. Agony raced through the creature's form, temporally stunning the monster in mortal defect. Taking advantage of the break, the dorsal plated Godzilla fired his ember flame. The blaze engulfed the queen in a wall of fire. Characterless eyes gazed unfazed before finally the flaming carcass of Megaguirus crashed into the earth. Signaling the end of an ancient killer.

11. DESCGHIDORAH(DEATH GHIDORAH)


 Sixty-seven million years ago, an unspeakable horror arrived in the galaxy. A relative of the King of Terror himself, Desghidorah attacked Mars and turned it into a barren wasteland, literally sucking the life out of the planet. This creature, not content to allow just one planet in this solar system to suffer its wrath, advanced to the nearby planet of Earth. Desghidorah began its assault on the planet, but one thing it didn't expect was retaliation! A race of intelligent beings called the Elias populated the planet, and they fought against the three-headed demon. The guardians of the Elias, a race of giant moths named Mothra, engaged Desghidorah. The war between the giant insects and the space monster was long and brutal. Finally, the despised dragon was defeated, buried, and sealed in a secret location. Earth, however, was nearly ruined by the great war. The dinosaurs and many other species of animals went extinct, and the civilization of the Elias was almost obliterated. In the end, only three beings of this ancient species survived; their names were Moll, Lora, and Belvera. Moll and Lora became the avatars of Mothra, but Belvera, corrupted by the loss of her species, became evil. She sought to one day release Desghidorah upon this world once more...
By the year 1997, deforestation and pollution were at a fever pitch. A logging company was clearing out the lush and beautiful Hokkaido forests, when the workers stumbled upon a strange buried structure with ancient writing. One of the workers discovered a small pendant at the center of the object and removed it, which caused the earth to suddenly quake. He gave the pendant to his daughter as a present, but Belvera quickly located the little girl and stole the pendant, the "Seal of Elias," from her. Seeking out their sinister sister, Moll and Lora arrived to recover the seal. Belvera fought against her siblings for control of the seal, but Belvera and her reptilian steed, Garu-Garu, prevailed and escaped. Moll and Lora's transport, Fairy, was unable to fly, and the twin fairies were grounded. They explained to the humans that the seal had been holding Desghidorah captive for many years, and with it, Belvera would attempt to control the terrible monster.
At the site where the ancient artifact was uncovered, the ground shook violently, and Desghidorah's tomb began to rise into the sky. The man who discovered the seal was placed under the control of Belvera, who used him to demolish the tomb by driving a bulldozer carrying a load of dynamite directly into the jagged structure. Her plan was a success, and after it absorbed a massive amount of energy from the surrounding forests, Desghidorah announced its triumphant return to a terrified world. The violent beast continued to draw the life out of the forest, for it was planning to soon gain enough energy to take to the skies on crimson wings.
The Elias watched in horror; they knew what they must do! Mothra was the only being that could stand a chance against this soaring savage, so they called upon their guardian to come forth and do battle with the wicked creature once more. Mothra was protecting her newly laid egg, but when she was summoned, she flew to Japan to fight the three-headed demon. Mothra attacked Desghidorah, and the two engaged in mortal combat! Mothra, however, was old and weak after giving birth, and Desghidorah was far too vicious for her to handle. Desghidorah relentlessly attacked Mothra, causing great harm to the benign protector. Sensing his mother's dismay, the egg that Mothra left behind began to hatch, even though it hadn't grown thoroughly enough. The baby began his journey to assist his mother, and when the larva arrived on the scene of the battle, it attacked Desghidorah using its energized silk. This new rival momentarily confused the grotesque gargantuan, but it swiftly located the young creature and bit into his soft flesh. It sadistically lifted the now defenseless young creature in its horrible mouths, and beat the tiny monster against the ground as blood spewed from its wounds. The infant was thrown aside as his mother came to his defense. Desghidorah and Mothra battled fiercely, but she was again repelled. The larval Mothra camouflaged himself and continued his attack. When Desghidorah discovered his location, Mothra entered the fray once again. She lured Desghidorah into a waterway, and caused him to destroy a dam. Mothra grabbed her infant and fled the scene as Desghidorah was washed away by the fury of the surging water.
Mothra flew out to the sea to safety, but she was far too weak to go any further. She dropped her child into the water and crashed into the surf, not far ahead of him. The baby attempted with futility to keep her afloat, but she sank below the surface to a watery grave. Her Elias companions wept for her, but her infant was ready to incite swift and brutal revenge on his mother's murderer. He swam away and formed a chrysalis and began to metamorphosize.
Desghidorah, now unopposed, continued to absorb the life out of Hokkaido, creating a massive cloud that covered the island. Eventually, it gained enough energy, and, from its stone-like back, it sprouted two mighty wings. Desghidorah was finally ready to take on the world in full force.

The Mothra larva sought out an ancient, powerful tree and by using its energy, transformed into an even more powerful adult Mothra. The new Mothra once again engaged Desghidorah in battle, this time defeating him and once again imprisoning him within his ancient mountain prison, never to be seen again.
 12.YONGARY

Yongary shares the same story of Baragon. Actually, when you see one of the posters of Frankenstein Conquers the World such as this, you'll find that if you just take Baragon's ears off, he looks exactly like Yongary.

 The original movie follows the story of an earthquake heading through South Korea. The earthquake is found out to be made by the monster Yonggary who is burrowing underground, then it proceeds to destroy cities. Yongary lives off of drinking gasoline and oil. It was discovered that Yongary has a weakness to ammonia precipitate, and died an agonizing death at the end of the film after being dusted by this poison.
In the United states, the original film is now widely available on DVD in various budget-DVD packs and single budget DVDs. MGM released the original Yonggary, Monster from the Deep as part of their Midnite Movies series on Sept. 11, 2007. It will be paired as a double feature with the giant ape film Konga.

Reptilian

Inspired by Roland Emmerich's Godzilla remake, Yonggary: Monster from the Deep was remade in 1999 by prolific Korean filmmaker Shim Hyung-rae, using conventional computer-generated imagery effects, and an American cast to appeal to international markets. The film's title in the US is Reptilian. Reptilian is based about aliens that have resurrected the fossils of a 200-million-year-old, 500 foot tall, fireball breathing dinosaur found in the Korean mountains and uses this dinosaur to destroy the world but the aliens lose control of Yonggary, and Yonggary battles Cykor, the aliens' ultimate weapon. In the end, Yonggary wins and saves humanity. However, in the Korean version, Yonggary is evil throughout the film and, in a reminecent to the original, dies in the end. This version stays closer to its original counterpart's storyline. Unfortunately, this version of the film is exremely rare and can be very very hard to find.
 12: VARAN


A pair of red-trimmed off-white butterflies are found living in the land of Siberia. The insects are native to Japan, so scientists find it strange that they would be discovered so far away from their homeland. In response, an expedition is dispatched to their habitat, located along the Kitami River, to discover why the insects might be living in Siberia. Two members of the scientific community helm the expedition, but are mysteriously crushed by something that the police can only describe as "powerful." The nearby villagers of the Kitami River insist that the deaths were a result of the wraith of their mountain god: Varan.
Further intrigued, a larger expedition is then dispatched to the area. This time the investigation is funded by the film company "20th Century Mysteries Solved", an organization that seeks to uncover the truth behind the two deaths to report on it. Staff of the firm Yuriko and Horiguchi lead the expedition along with Kenji, a member of the scientific community. The expedition travels further inland and stumbles upon a village doing a ritualistic prayer to their mountain god. The priest of the village warns the travelers that their presence will make the monster angry. The warnings fall of deaf ears, though, and the problem escalates when Ken, a young local boy, runs out of the village after his dog. The villagers are warned not pursue, as the priest explains that such action would anger the mountain god. Kenji challenges the priest's warning, asking if their beliefs are worth endangering the life of a child. The three members of the expedition then decide to take matters into their own hands and rescue the boy. The trio is separated, however, in the thick fog. Kenji and Horiguchi return to the village to rally the locals to help them, telling them their beliefs are little more than superstition. The villagers, minus the priest, agree, and head toward the lake to rescue Ken. Once there, Ken, along with Yuriko, are discovered. Their reunion is cut short, though, by the monster Varan rising from the Kitami River. The villagers flee back to their homes, but Varan gives chase. The aquatic monster enters the village, killing the priest who was guarding the entrance. The beast then proceeds to tear apart the huts inside. After the destruction, the monster retreats to his underwater lair.

Reports of the creature's existence are sent back to Japan, and the defense force is mobilized near Kitami River to prepare for the beast's return. The nearby villages are evacuated, as tanks and ground artillery units move into position. Shortly after the evacuation, the military begins releasing toxins into the river to drive the monster out. The plan is a success, as Varan emerges from the water's surface. Phase two of the SDF's plan is put into operation, as tanks and artillery units began to unleash their destructive fury on the monster. The conventional weapons have no effect, though, and the military is forced to retreat. Amongst the confusion, Yuriko manages to get caught under a falling tree, placing her right in Varan's path. Kenji narrowly manages to save his colleague, though, and the two seek safety in a nearby cave. Varan pursues the two, reaching into the cavern with his claws. Luckily, the military intervenes, firing light bombs over the monster's head. Varan becomes attracted by the light, and climbs a nearby mountain in order to get a closer look. Once at the peak, though, Varan raises his arms to reveal hidden flaps of skins. The creature then leaps from the mountain and glides off into the sea. As the next day breaks, Varan's reign of terror continues as he capsizes a fishing boat not far from Tokyo's shores. The defense force then remobilizes, sending a squadron of jets to intercept the creature. The aircrafts are met with little success, however, as Varan manages to sink one of them that ventures to close to the water's surface. Pleased with his success, the monster submerges and continues his descent toward Tokyo. The military moves into phase two of their counterattack, deploying battleships to the surrounding waters. Unfortunately, the battleship's artillery has no effect against the creature. Undiscouraged, the SDF quickly launches a third campaign to try and stop Varan's advancement, this time using mine sweepers to seal off Tokyo. The attack, like the rest, is met with failure, though. Out of options, the defense force again remobilizes its forces to the area around Tokyo bay, lining the water with battleships and dispatching a battalion of tanks near Haneda airport. A large amount of Special Gunpowder, which they hope will have better success at destroying the monster, is also readied. Tokyo is then evacuated, as the military awaits the appearance of Varan.

Day turns to night as Varan finally emerges from the water, ready to attack the Japanese mainland. The creature is immediately shelled by the surrounding forces, but that doesn't deter his advancement on land. Kenji, once again taking matters into his own hands, drives a truck filled with Special Gunpowder to the runway of Haneda airport. Varan advances on the small vehicle, as Kenji escapes to a safe distance. With Varan directly over the truck, the detonate trigger is pulled, causing the aquatic monster to fall flat on his stomach. The SDF celebrates prematurely, though, as the beast rises from the attack seemingly unfazed, and begins an assault on his hind legs. Light bombs are once again deployed to try and attract the monster, while the defense force witnesses Varan eating one of the flares. A new plan is then hatched, as they prepare light bombs filled with the Special Gun Powder. The bombs are unleashed, as the monster eats two of them out of the night sky. Shortly after, the first bomb detonates, causing the monster to retreat back to the sea. Varan is too late, though, as the second detonates just as the creature submerges. Time passes, and the ocean water is still as the self defense force declares the creature dead.

Destroy All Monsters

In 1999, 41 years after the incident at Haneda airport, a small, possibly infantile Varan is found living on the human monitored Monster Land. When the Kilaakian take control of the island, and its inhabitants, Varan disappears as the alien invaders global assault is initiated. After the control is broken, Varan joins the other Earth monsters in the fight against King Ghidorah at Mount Fuji, although he does not participate directly in the conflict itself. Once the space demon is defeated, the spiked creature returns to Monster Land to live out his days with the rest of the kaiju. Within the context of the film itself he is only seen gliding through the air prior to the fight against Ghidorah, and in the last scene as a static model rather than as a suit.
13. GRYPHON

 
This kaiju is from the original script for the TriStar Godzilla movie.
According to the early script by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot, the Gryphon was to appear in Utah first, then destroy it's way to New York and battle Zilla. According to the script, the creature comes to Earth in a meteorite, and promptly begins to consume animals, gathering the genetic material from many different fauna to construct a new body for its self, indicating that it may not have been a solid organism, rather a mass of organic material like the Blob. It could attack with claws, teeth, a group of snakes living in it's mouth, and blasts of electricity from it's wings. According to some sources, Toho's agreement with Tristar expressively forbade them from creating any monsters of their own (although Toho seems to have conceded this in the case of Godzilla: The Series). Toho seems to have told Tristar that if "their" Godzilla was to battle another creature, it had to be a Toho creation. The two monsters Toho offered, Mothra and King Ghidorah, where much too expensive, making Tristar decline. After this, the project was scrapped but the concept art had already been released.

14. MOTHRA

n a distant land, called Infant Island, a race of natives dwell, praying day and night to a mighty god. Bathing her mythical spirit with praise and utmost devotion to her greatness. It was not until the encroachment of man, did the natives know of death, suffering, and evil. Ransacking the island, a group of pilfering thieves, stole a pair small six-inch high ladies, the Shobijin priestess that lived on the grounds. The islanders tried to fight back, but against guns they held no power. With tear soaked eyes, and blood dripping lips, the head priest crawled to the temple. His voice echoed in mournful cries, as at last the giant egg, which had been housed inside, broke. Lifting into the cavern of the darkness, Mothra was born. Feeling the Shobijin's cries, the huge caterpillar made it way towards Tokyo. Destroying homes, ships, and countless millions in property, Mothra crawled. Days passed before finally she reached the heart of Tokyo. There, Mothra met with the military's full might. Tanks and rockets were shelled against the huge insect with unrelenting fury. Sensing that her current form was too slow, the caterpillar climbed Tokyo Tower. However, her mass was far too much for the structure, and the metal sentry collapsed. Taking care of the advantage, Mothra began to spin her silk. The milky white strains fallen about her form, and forming a huge while cocoon within hours. What the people of the world had viewed with her Larva form, was nothing compared to what lied in waiting of the egg. Dawn rises on the new day, and Tokyo beholds the view of the temporally halted monster, Mothra. Concealed in her cocoon, the Japanese public fears what devilish tricks the beast might show. But the military is already well and ready to take advantage of the immovable creature. Bringing in two Heat Ray Guns from the Rolisican government, they plan to hit the creature while it was helpless. Hours tick by, before finally the atomic cannons were fired. Blazes a thousand times more powerful than any star, stream from their metallic like barrels, and burned into the cocoon. Causing the flammable material to turn into a flaming inferno. Man's technology transformed the once soft womb, into a charred husk. Japan breathed a sigh of relief, until the truth revealed itself.

Muffled cried lifted from the prison, followed by cracking. Pieces of the shell fell away, showing to the world a new evolved Mothra. Resembling an adult moth, the creature spread its wings and took off. The hurricane force winds from her flapping, sent cars and people flying. Screeching on last time, the winged insect flew to New Kirk City. A place that held her fairies. Human conflict arises before the twins are taken from their captors and giving back to their protector. Saying goodbye, Mothra and the sister girls left, flying back to their island in peace. With the rampaging Godzilla decimating half the countryside of Japan, a small band of reporters journeyed to Infant Island in hope that the Shobijin will hear their pleas. Their calls almost went unheard though, because of the interference of the island natives. They were extremely reluctant to let them see their beloved goddess after humanity's lack of cooperation in returning Mothra's egg, which had washed ashore on Japan.

However, the gigantic deity summoned for them, and through the communications of the Shobijin, an agreement was brought. Mothra, though weak in her current state, would journey to Japan to face Godzilla. Unfortunately, if she did leave, and was triumphant, she would not have the strength to return. So, lifting from her cavern shrine, the monstrous insect carried the prayers and wishes of the world on her wings. A few days passed before the angelic monster reached the mainland and forced a war with the roaring nuclear menace. The adult Mothra fought, and dragged the reptile from her uncased egg. Her children would not fall prey before this murderer. Few witnessed the selfless struggle that Mothra gave Godzilla that day. The deity used every weapon in her arsenal, but still could not prevail. Only after having her wings burned did the goddess retreated, flying back to the demolished Happy Enterprises and coming to rest on her egg in a final bid of strength. Mothra, the benevolent deity, was now dead. It was up to her flesh and blood kin to finish what she started.

2nd Generation

With the death of the adult Mothra, mankind looks towards the gigantic egg in hope, which had washed upon the shores of Japan. Greedy corporations, such as Happy Enterprises, had k

ept the egg in a huge fiberglass cage. Only the intervention of the gigantic moth saved the unborn child from the creature Godzilla. Now, the dead mass of Mothra laid still on the egg. The Shobijin twins prayed to their sleeping god. Begging for redemption against the evil of Godzilla. It wasn't long before their wishes were heard. Birthing from the egg, two grub like larva crawled forth to challenge the nuclear menace. The newborns swam to the creature, and combined their power to over come the King of the Monsters. Rage frothed from Godzilla, though he could do little to release it, as he was entombed in the bindings of the caterpillar's web. Then, he toppled into the sea, sealing the avenged wrath of the babies for their murdered mother. Though they did triumph on the battlefield, one of the larva perished. The remaining one, however, was given peace, and was worshiped day and night by her people. It was not until another year did humankind again plead for her help. It seemed that an awakened tyrant, a golden king of terror, was devastating the lands. The cosmic entity was dubbed King Ghidorah, and humanity begged for a savior. However, Mothra could not defeat the demon alone. She would have to convince the newly awakened Rodan and Godzilla to join her side and defend the Earth. Unfortunately, the ancient animals were waging their own war between themselves, and would not hear her begs. So, even knowing that death would greet her, Mothra crawled on alone and fought King Ghidorah. The plan was completely insane and suicidal, but her courage managed to stir something. Godzilla and Rodan were moved by the youth's bravery, and decided to put aside their differences. Soon they joined her side, and forced the cackling horror back to the cold, dark, recesses of space.

3rd Generation

Years pass as the champion Mothra, now in its life cycle, bears a child of her own. Much smaller than its ancestors, this larval Mothra finds itself inhabiting Monster Island an artificially maintained island for the world's kaiju. However, the arrival of an alien force known as the Kilaaks throws the utopia out of balance, as they take control of the island's inhabitants. Mothra, now a mercenary of the alien race, is first sent to destroy Beijing as part of a global assault. Later, as the Kilaak's war enters its second phase, Mothra joins Godzilla, Rodan, and Manda in the annihilation of Tokyo. Thankfully, the Kilaak's deplorable technology is eventually duplicated on Earth, and, with the destruction of the Kilaak's Moon base, the monsters now enter the control of humanity. The hostile alien race makes one final bid for success, as they send their ultimate weapon, King Ghidorah, to defeat Earth's monsters. Joining the counteroffensive, Mothra and the rest of Earth's defenders easily fight back the space demon, killing the beast once and for all. With Ghidorah no more, and the Kilaakian laid to rest, Mothra once again returns to Monster Land to live out the rest of her days in peace.

Heisei History

Infant Island, a tropical oasis in the Indonesian Archipelago, was bombarded with massive waves following an asteroid collision in the early 1990's. The torrential climactic shift in the area revealed an enormous egg buried in the side of a hill. An expedition was soon sent to the island to investigate the climactic changes, and it so happened that this small trio discovered the egg during their search of the tiny isle. Even more bizarre, a pair of twin fairies called the Cosmos appeared near the egg. They revealed that over 12 millennia ago, an advanced civilization created a device that could control the weather. The Earth created Battra in order to counter this action, and the guardian Mothra did battle with the creature. Battra was laid to rest in the north seas while the climate controller was destroyed. The land flooded, and Mothra and the Cosmos survived in the mountains. The Cosmos also revealed that Mothra and Battra had reawakened, due to the new dangers facing the planet. Kenji Andoh, a member of the expedition and an employee of the Marutoma Corporation, suggested that the egg should be transported back to Japan in order for it to be properly preserved. The Cosmos put their trust in Andoh, and the egg set sail toward the mainland.

As the ship traveled the long journey to Japan, a powerful pillar of bright blue energy ripped through the surf. Godzilla emerged and approached the colorful orb. In order to keep their vessel safe from Godzilla, Takuya Fujita cut the tethers to the ropes to the egg's transport. Afterward, the egg began to crack and glow. The turquoise eyes of an adorable caterpillar emerged from the broken shell. The larva rushed into the sea to avoid Godzilla's heat ray, and found her way behind the monster. She bit the trunk-like tail, but Godzilla tossed the moth aside. Mothra began to spray her silk at the beast, but she was thrown back yet again by his thermonuclear ray. The persistent insect leaped at the creature, but the massive monster again repelled the diminutive worm. It appeared as though Mothra was in dire straits, if not for the jagged hump that suddenly appeared in the distance. It was the Battra larva, and though it used its horn to maliciously toss Mothra aside, it grappled with Godzilla, unknowingly giving Mothra a chance to escape. As Battra and Godzilla pulled each other under the sea and eventually into a lava flow beneath the Earth's crust, Mothra prepared to return home to safety. Without the giant egg he had promised to procure, Kenji Andoh kidnapped the Cosmos and handed them to his boss instead. The twin fairies called to Mothra for help, and the mammoth moth inched its way through the endless miles of sea toward Tokyo. As Mothra plowed through the military's defensive procedures, Takuya Fujita absconded with the fairies and attempted to sell them for profit. His ex-wife Masako Tezuka, a member of the expedition to Infant Island, and his daughter pleaded with him to release the fairies... for Mothra was destroying Tokyo in her attempts to rescue her beloved twin fairies. The Cosmos were released, and they ordered Mothra to halt her advance. The obedient Monster turned around and began her long trek home, but she was suddenly fired upon by the military. The military ceased fire when they learned that there were people in the vicinity, but Mothra looked very ill following the assault. She trudged over to the Diet Building, where she raised her head into the sky and shot her silk into the air. The silk gently formed into a soft, protective cocoon. Mothra was about to metamorphosize. Wrapped in a blanket of silk, Mothra transformed inside her cocoon. She had come to Japan to rescue her beloved Cosmos, and began her retreat when she learned of their safety. The military, however, fired on the larva. When a cease-fire was issued, Mothra looked very lethargic. She slowly made her way to the Capitol, and wrapped herself in a protective cocoon.
Meanwhile, the pressure of the magma flow beneath Mt. Fuji began to reach a critical level. Suddenly, Godzilla emerged from the volcano! It was believed that the menace had died in an erupting lava flow beneath the sea, but it turned out that he merely swam through the molten rock to his present location. The saurian shadow, pulsing with anger, began his descent toward Yokohama.

As Godzilla was emerging from his fiery tomb, the furry shell of Mothra's cocoon began to stretch and tear. Two beautiful, cerulean pools pierced through the night, as a pair of plush wings began to unfold. Mothra began to fly into the night, for it was her duty to destroy her dark counterpart: Battra. It was thought that Battra had died earlier in a lava flow in the ocean depths, but the reddish glow on the surface of the sea burned a flame of doubt on this assumption. Battra rose from the surf and immediately transformed into its imago form in a blaze of energy. It sought to destroy its mortal enemy Mothra, and flew toward the mainland. At Yokohama Cosmo World, the park goers gazed into the sky as Mothra and Battra clashed above the city. Battra pursued Mothra with his deadly eye beams, and in the process, the indifferent insect caused the collapse of the Yokohama Bay Bridge. Mothra crashed into the ground, and her archenemy's eye beams continued to fire. Before Battra could continue the onslaught, though, he was suddenly distracted by another monster; Godzilla had arrived on the scene. Battra, recognizing the threat that this new entity posed, proceeded to fire his eye beams at the nuclear menace. In the process, the dark moth destroyed the Yokohama Landmark Tower, sending the once proud structure crashing onto his furious foe. Battra flew to the ruins where Godzilla lay, but the devious creature beneath the rubble released his nuclear pulse. Godzilla regained his balance and tossed Battra into the distance. A nuclear ray quickly followed the physical assault, and Godzilla's foe was rendered incapacitated.
Mothra, understanding the futility of the current battle strategy, shot Godzilla with her antenna beams and descended to meet Battra. They communicated and agreed to cooperate. Mothra began to revive Battra, but Godzilla interrupted the process. The determined moth left Battra to fight her true foe. She reflected his attacks with her glimmering scales, but the terrible titan's nuclear pulse sent the majestic moth crashing underneath the Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel in the theme park. Godzilla fired a blast at the Ferris wheel, and it began to tilt and fall toward the immobile creature. Battra caught the amusement ride just in time, and sent it crashing into Godzilla instead. Regaining her composure, Mothra created a bright shield of energy around Godzilla as her ally fired his eye beams at the monster. Godzilla continued to fight on, and in the process destroyed the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel. The reptile's reign of terror was finally over, however, when the monster was sent crashing into the ground. Mothra and Battra communicated once more, and they made a pact. The former latched onto Godzilla's tail as the latter grabbed onto Godzilla's head and neck. They slowly lifted the detestable behemoth into the air, and they carried him out to sea. However, Godzilla sank his teeth into Battra's neck and used his thermonuclear ray on the creature's wound, which was flowing most repulsively with yellowish blood. Eventually, Battra's eyes lost their glow; the creature had died. Mothra is unable to go any further is forced to released Godzilla's tail, sending her ferocious foe and her late ally into the depths of the sea. The majestic moth sealed the area with a special energy, and departed for the mainland.
It so happened that the year 1999 was going to bring an asteroid plummeting to the planet. Battra was going to be the one to destroy the massive meteor before it collided with Earth, but since he had died in the battle with Godzilla, Mothra would have to halt its approach in his stead. After all, the two monsters had made a solemn pact. After saying their goodbyes to humankind, the Cosmos departed. They joined Mothra and flew into space, for they were about to save the Earth yet again...

Millennium Series History

Mothra was brought back in three of the Millennium series films, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. , and Godzilla Final Wars. In GMK Mothra was one of the three Guardian Monsters that defended Japan from a possessed Godzilla.

GMK

The restless souls of those who died in the Pacific War accumulated into Godzilla, a detestable demon that attacked Tokyo in 1954. In 2001, as hellish horror was returning, the spirit of Hiyotoshi Isayama began to release the Guardian Monsters of Japan's ancient past. A small group of eleven young cyclists arrived at Lake Ikeda in Kagashima. Though their intentions seemed harmless at first, their demeanor began to quickly turn sour. The deviants ransacked a local store. Even worse, when a barking dog irked the troublesome teens, they heartlessly prepared to do away with the poor pooch. Amidst the chaos of the break in, an odd antiquity was overturned. The humanoid statuette fell on its side, and the reveling vandals prepared to hand the artifact the same fate as the animal they had shoved so carelessly into a cramped receptacle. As this insanity continued, a mysterious old man watched the situation from the edge of a dark forest. The laughter and revelry continued to echo into the night as a boat departed from the shore, bent on a malicious mission. The vessel was suddenly overturned, and the helpless humans were quickly tugged into the deep, one by one. The mortified onlookers stood speechless as what appeared to be an enormous boulder broke through the surface of the once placid lake. Mere moments passed before the terrible truth was realized: the enormous object was a monster! A piercing roar bellowed from the creeping creature as it barreled its way closer and closer to the shore. The shrieking silhouette struck panic into the hearts of the onlookers. Mothra, as the ancient Guardian Monster was called, killed each and every one of them by entrapping them in her silky cocoon. The lucky pup managed to escape this terrible fate. Like a blanket, the abominable arthropod enshrouded herself in her own silk, for she needed to metamorphosize in order to confront the approaching danger.
The people on the shore of Lake Ikeda gazed with curiosity at the enormous cocoon that sat motionless in the calm waters. The Guardian Monster Baragon had been ruthlessly slaughtered by Godzilla in the Owaku Valley in Hakone, and the despicable beast was now inching its way closer and closer to Tokyo. The sun set over Lake Ikeda, and Baragon's replacement quickly grew inside the shell of her protective pupa. An expressionless face suddenly tore its way through the protective coating, and two purple gems stared deep into the night. Mothra, the second Guardian Monster, climbed atop her broken cocoon, and her membranous wings began to materialize into a beautiful rainbow of vibrant colors. Her wings moved with a smooth motion as she prepared to take off. Into the sky she soared, prepared to confront her saurian foe, Godzilla.
As the final Guardian Monster, Ghidorah, appeared near Mt. Fuji, Mothra arrived in Yokohama. Mothra landed atop the Yokohama Landmark Tower, the nation's highest skyscraper. She peered down on the dimly lit metropolis, seeking the creature she was awoken to exterminate. Godzilla and Mothra exchanged chilling roars. The mammoth moth started to glide gracefully from the pinnacle of the building. She swam on the breeze, gently and elegantly boasting her prowess in the sky. Grace soon gave way to raw power as the mystifying monster fired her projectile stingers into Godzilla. The organic daggers exploded on contact, but they managed to cause only minimal damage. The monster king countered this stinger barrage with his heat ray, and Mothra swiftly picked up speed to escape the speeding stream of searing-hot plasma. In the process of escaping the nuclear hellfire, Mothra led the beam straight into the Landmark Tower. In a flash, the once proud symbol of human ingenuity became a towering inferno. In the chaos, Mothra managed to silently descend behind Godzilla and latch tightly onto the skull of the nuclear menace. When Ghidorah appeared on the scene, Mothra humbly retreated to allow the third Guardian Monster to enter the fray. The intelligent insect managed to again align herself silently behind Godzilla while he was preoccupied with Ghidorah, but alas, the blunt blow of Godzilla's tail sent the moth flying into a furious tumble. She regained her balance and soared again into the sky. Ghidorah was suddenly knocked unconscious by the superior, surging strength of his sadistic enemy. As Godzilla attempted to fire a final radioactive ray at Ghidorah, Mothra came to her fellow Guardian's defense and took the full force of the powerful beam. With both Mothra and Ghidorah seemingly defeated, the military fired on the lumbering leviathan. Unfortunately, the self-defense force did not last long against the horrendous heat ray. Upwards of ninety percent of the counteroffensive was destroyed by Godzilla's wrath, and it seemed as though nothing could be done to gain an advantage over this cyclopean creature.
Her wings ablaze, Mothra rose from the ruins of the city. Her expressionless face gazed deep into the twisted soul of the radioactive reptile. She approached Godzilla from behind, but Godzilla was prepared. He turned and fired the full force of his thermonuclear breath, dematerializing the once majestic moth. Mothra's energy swirled and started to descend upon Ghidorah. His eyes opened, and the final Guardian Monster returned in full furious force as King Ghidorah!

Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.

The Shobijin warn the Japanese government that Godzilla continues returning to Japan because they used the original Godzilla's bones in Kiryu 's design. They beg Japan to return the original Godzilla's bones to the bottom of the sea and promise that Mothra would take Kiryu's place in defending Japan against Godzilla, and if Japan does not, then Mothra would declare war on humanity. When Godzilla attacks Japan, Mothra arrives before Kiryu to fight Godzilla. However, Godzilla overpowers Mothra and Kiryu arrives to fight Godzilla but is also defeated and must undergo repairs. Meanwhile, on Infant Island, two twin Mothra larvae hatch from Mothra's egg, and rush to help their mother. The twin larvae hold Godzilla off as Kiryu is being repaired. Godzilla attempts to use his atomic breath against the larvae but Mothra sacrifices herself to save her children. Just in time, the humans repair Kiryu, who stabs Godzilla's chest with a drill. Godzilla roars in pain, and the larvae begin to bind him up in web. However, Godzilla's roar re-awakens Kiryu's soul. The cyborg grabs hold of the web-binded Godzilla and secures themselves with cables. Kiryu then uses his boosters and carries Godzilla and himself out to sea.

Godzilla Final Wars

An ancient guardian, Mothra saved the Earth in times past from the monster Gigan. The two monsters battled thousands of years ago over the fate of Earth, and Mothra ended up being victorious over her cybernetic foe. Several millennia passed, and the mummified remains of the cyborg kaiju ended up displayed in an EDF stronghold for further investigation. While confined, the creature is studied by a team of scientists. Among them is Paleontologist Hachiro Jinguji, who makes the startling discovery that the creature, despite hosting advance technology, is in fact 12,000 years old. A sudden voice chimes in to confirm this, as the interior of the EDF lab appears to melt away into a cave. Before the group, that includes Jinguji and Biologist Miyuki Otonashi, two tiny fairies, known as Shobijin, are spotted lying on a small pedestal. The Shobijin explain that Gigan did arrive on Earth thousands of years ago and was fought into submission by Mothra. The fairies then reassure the group that Mothra will retain its role as the Earth's guardian, before the cave dissipates to reveal the interior of the EDF lab again. Later, after the Xiliens have initiated a series of attacks, Mothra answers the Earth's plea for help and arrives in Tokyo ready to fight. Once there, Mothra attacks the Xilien's latest kaiju, Monster X, who was battling Godzilla. However, the Xilien leader, spotting Mothra's descent into Tokyo, dispatches a repaired Gigan to do battle with its ancient foe. The two kaiju fight fiercely, slamming their bodies into one another in mid-air, until Gigan gains the upper hand by cutting Mothra's wing with his new chainsaw hands. With Mothra apparently in defeat, Gigan turns his attention to Godzilla, and begins slashing at the monster with his new hands, as Monster X holds the nuclear leviathan in place. The pair's advantage is short lived, however, as Mothra comes flying back into the battle, striking down both Monster X and Gigan simultaneously with her wings. Gigan directs his efforts back at Mothra, utilizing more of his upgraded arsenal as he unleashes two, razor like, discs at the winged monster. Gigan's attack proves futile, however, as Mothra effortlessly dodges the two discs. Gigan continues the assault, though, and lets loose with a discharge of his shotgun like laser beam, which ignites his ancient foe into a smoldering fireball. Gigan, pleased with his success, turns his back to the downed moth. However, the cybernetic kaiju made a fatal miscalculation as the two razor discs, malfunctioning due to Mothra's scales, boomeranged back at the kaiju, decapitating Gigan. Then, out of the smoke and flames, a burning Mothra ascended at her foe in her breath, colliding with the robotic kaiju and causing an explosion that destroyed the cyborg.This "kamikaze" attack is Mothras most powerful weapon, amazingly, though, she survives it (as seen in the credits) and flew home to Infant Island.

Powers/Abilities

As a larva, Mothra's sprays her opponents with a stream of silk as a ranged attack (to entrap or disorient an enemy). She also uses her mandibles for a close combat bite. (Mothra has a habit of biting opponents' tails, although it is rarely effective and, predictably, is usually self-defeating. It's usually used as a desperate attempt at stopping a creature much larger than itself.) As an adult, her wings can (and generally do) create gales which tear apart buildings and send other kaiju flying. Her great bulk of a body is commonly used to her advantage in battle to slam into opponents (both in larva and adult form), and her surprising levels of strength can help her to drag and even lift monsters like Godzilla. Her final strategy is to emit "scales", a yellow poisonous powder that can hopefully asphyxiate an enemy.However she only uses that attack when she knows she is going to die, this is thought, because the extreme loss of scales will cause her to lose her flight.
The Heisei version of Mothra had some differences. She could now fire a beam of energy from her antennae, and fire arcs of lightning from her wings, or keep it in her body to release to another through touch.

The powder now had a different effect; It would act as a 3-D mirror to trap energy blasts, making them rebound over whatever was inside the cloud of powder over and over again. This proved very effective in turning Godzilla's own atomic breath against him. The powder could also be used as an instrument in team-based strategies, as it was shown that Battra had deliberately fired his prism beams into the powder cloud (while Godzilla was surrounded by it) so that his beams would rebound inside the cloud for a short time before finally striking Godzilla, negating any chance of the prism beams not hitting their target. Ironically, Godzilla's Nuclear Pulse wasn't reflected by her mirror and she was thrown back, possibly because her mirror can't reflect energy attacks if it is able to pass around her mirror. In the Mothra Trilogy, Mothra (also known as Mothra Leo)displayed a wide use of energy-projection abilities; ranging from triple prismatic beams from her forehead, to energized tackles, to her sun strike buster, a very potent attack that comes from the sky like a sacred lightning bolt. Leo Mothra, her offspring and successor, shared her energy powers and also possessed the ability to gain alternate forms as a means of adapting to his opponent's fighting styles. In GMK Mothra was able to shoot poison darts from her abdomen but she lacked both her hurricane force winds and her poison powder. In both Tokyo SOS and Final Wars, Mothra's powder was able to redirect both energy and physical projectiles back to their original senders, but some individuals believe that the powder of the Final Wars incarnation of Mothra instead has the ability to cause a short-circuit in electronics . As seen on Final Wars Mothra has the ability to counter enemy beams not only with reflecting them she can use them to attack with her kamikaze attack with which she kills Gigan and survived.

Mothra's Fairies: Shobijin, Cosmos, and Elias

Mothra is usually accompanied by two tiny priestesses or fairies (often called shobijin, Japanese for "small beauties") who also speak for her. For Mothra's first three film appearances these twin fairies were played by the Peanuts. In Mothra they demonstrate telepathic ability, within speaking range with people and over great distances with Mothra. They explain that while they call to Mothra in prayer and song, they and Mothra are also connected on some deeper level beyond their control, and it is this connection that impels Mothra to find them no matter where they are. These qualities are part of the continuity of all subsequent Mothra appearances. In Mothra vs. Godzilla the Shobijin also demonstrate teleportation, when trying to escape from Kumayama and Torahata. In Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster the girls translate not only Mothra's chirps but an entire conversation among three daikaiju. Decades later, in Godzilla: Tokyo SOS, two other shobijin (portrayed by Masami Nagasawa and Chihiro Ôtsuka) demonstrate telekenesis as well.
In the Godzilla films of the 1990s Mothra's priestesses (played by Keiko Imamura and Sayaka Osawa) identify themselves as Earth's Cosmos, who claim to have been created by the very life force of Earth, along with Mothra and  Battra—a "Black Mothra" (as described in Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth) or Battle Mothra (as described in the Super Godzilla video game manual). The Cosmos speak not only for Battra and Mothra, but for the living Earth as well. The Cosmos say that Battra was first created by the Earth to balance the ecosystem, which was disrupted by the climate-altering device of an advanced civilization, 12,000 years ago. However, Battra proved to be a little too enthusiastic about its task, and not only destroyed the things of man, but of the natural order as well. The first Mothra was then created to restore the true balance, and stop Battra's rampage. The Cosmos revere both Mothra and Battra as two different divine forces of nature. They act concerned when Battra is injured, and are pleased when Mothra finds a nonviolent method of stopping Battra, "making friends", as they say in the film. They know when Battra has awoken, and what his tasks and motivations are, but Battra does not appear motivated to seek them out, unlike Mothra, who seems compelled to protect them, and talks to them directly.
In the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy, made in the late 1990s, Mothra's priestesses were the Elias; the Elias differ from earlier incarnations in that they are not mindlinked twins but individual persons, Moll (or Moru or Mona) and Lora. They are also seen to have an older sister, a dark Elias called Belvera. In addition to accompanying Mothra, the Elias would also ride smaller offspring called Fairy Mothras. Mothra would reprise the role of ancient guardian, though with only a passing homage to the Cosmos, (who were the twins from Gamera 3: Awakening of Irys) in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack.

15. RODAN

 In Rodan, two Rodans (whose relationship is unknown) were unearthed and awakened by mining operations in Kitamatsu along with a swarm of prehistoric insects called Meganulons. After devouring several people, raiding various Pacific countries such as the Philippines and Sasebo to ruins, one Rodan is maimed in a bombardment of their nest in Mount Aso and falls, apparently fatally, into a volcanic eruption triggered by the attack. The other grief-stricken Rodan flies into the volcano to join the first. Also, as with Godzilla, the US version differs from the original Japanese release by more than simple matters of language translation; it is recommended that one views both versions to fully appreciate these differences. Briefly, the original Japanese version is much darker in tone. It also has one of the two Rodans injured by a jet fighter, causing it to dive into a river. Later we find that this injury prevents it from achieving supersonic flight, as now only one Rodan can do.

Rodan went on to cross over into the Godzilla series. Whether another Rodan entirely, or a survivor from 1956, this Rodan was resurrected by accumulated volcanic gas, appearing in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster in 1964 when he broke out of the crust of the volcano and helped Godzilla and Mothra defeat King Ghidorah. In this appearance and all subsequent appearances in the Showa series Rodan is as tall as Godzilla with a wingspan a little wider than he is tall. Rodan appeared with Godzilla again in Invasion of the Astro Monster , where both were mind-controlled by Xilians to destroy Earth's cities and later fought King Ghidorah again when the mind control was broken. In Destroy All Monsters, Rodan was again used by aliens to wreak havoc on Earth, this time by the Kilaaks. Again the mind control was broken and the monsters fought King Ghidorah. Rodan would only appear again in the Shōwa series in stock footage used for Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Megalon, and Terror of Mechagodzilla. Rodan was one of the few monsters not affected by Godzilla's atomic breath. In Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster , Godzilla uses his breath against Rodan several times but the pterosaur seemed unaffected by it at all, only shaking his head in an annoyed manner. Rodan also shrugged off King Ghidorah's gravity beams; in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster and Invasion of the Astro-Monster. He was struck several times on his wings but showed no pain or reaction.

Rodan appeared in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, where he sought to protect Baby Godzilla, whose egg was in Rodan's nest. Rodan played a vital role in the film's climax, sacrificing his own life to revive Godzilla by transferring his life-energy to him. Heisei Rodan is notably much smaller than his appearances in the Showa series, standing only about 1/3 as tall as Godzilla and having a wingspan 1/2 Godzilla's height. The prominent rows of spines on his belly are replaced with overlapping ridges of bone, and he has three spines on his head instead of two (the outer two curve outwards and the center curves up), as well as a wider beak and more predatory face. Heisei Rodan does have some of his predecessor's durability, withstanding several blasts from both Godzilla and MechaGodzilla, and kept his speed and shockwave abilities as well as a stronger pecking attack that can shatter boulders. After being defeated and left for dead by Godzilla following a fight on the small island where his and Baby Godzilla's eggs are found, Rodan was revived by the psychic song of an ancient plant that had covered the eggs. Godzilla's radiation mutated Rodan into "Fire Rodan (ファイヤーラドン, Faiya Radon)", changing his colors from brown and tan to brick red and light yellow/gold. Fire Rodan also gained a uranium heat ray as a weapon, similar to Godzilla's Atomic Breath. Besides that, Fire Rodan remained basically the same as Rodan.

Fire Rodan

The newly charged pterosaur flew over the open sea, ever focusing on one goal: to reach its "brother" Baby Godzilla. Over the urban sprawls of Japan it soared, searching. Finally, it located Baby Godzilla, being transported via helicopter as bait for Godzilla. Rodan quickly annihilated the helicopter and caught the plummeting container, in which Baby Godzilla and his protector Azusa Gojo were being transported. Clumsily, Rodan pecked away at the container, attempting to reveal its contents. Mechagodzilla soon arrived, and the winged reptile turned its attention to this new foe. Rodan fired its uranium heat beam at its towering target. Mechagodzilla countered with a Mega Buster, but Garuda suddenly appeared. Rodan quickly sent the bulky jet crashing into a building, and its attention returned to Mechagodzilla. Its Uranium heat beam crashed into the mammoth mech, and Mechagodzilla countered with its plasma grenade and mega buster. Rodan rose from the attack and began to peck at Mechagodzilla's right eye, but the poor creature was soon repelled by the powerful plasma grenade. It appeared as though Fire Rodan was down for the count. Soon after, Mechagodzilla found itself gripped in battle with Godzilla. Mechagodzilla had gained the upper hand when it ruptured Godzilla's secondary brain, and Baby Godzilla quickly became distraught. It called out, and Rodan listened. It regained consciousness and began to flap and gain altitude. It didn't travel very far when it was shot down by Mechagodzilla's mega buster. In a last ditch effort to save Baby Godzilla, Rodan decided to assist its arch rival Godzilla. It landed on the paralyzed reptile and gave up its life energy to revive and enhance Godzilla's state.
Among the dust and glimmering energy, Fire Rodan disappeared in a remarkable display of courage and selflessness. It's "brother" would be saved at any cost.

Rodan in Godzilla: Final Wars

In the 2004 film, Godzilla: Final Wars, the original Rodan is used as a weapon of destruction by the Xilians via mind control. He first appears wreaking havoc in the city of New York, utilizing his famed supersonic abilities to destroy buildings and evade attacks from the Rumbling, a high-tech warship. He appeared alongside an all-star cast of other classic monsters, as they wreaked havoc on the major cities of the world and were sent to fight Godzilla. Rodan, Anguirus and King Caesar were the only monsters Godzilla did not kill; Toho's way of paying homage to the times in the past all three had fought by his side. Originally, Toho planned to film a scene where Godzilla destroyed them, but it was cut do to the fact that the fight scene was one of the first scenes filmed. Toho needed the costumes to film in other parts of the movie, and destroying them and making new costumes would interfere with the movie's budget, so the sequence was never filmed. Also, Godzilla killing his 3 friends would seem very odd, even though his mission was to destroy every monster he faces.

Rodan's primary weapons are his speed and agility; he can create hurricane-force winds and destructive sonic booms in his wake by flying at supersonic speeds at low altitude. He also uses his beak and talons effectively in battle(as shown in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, where his beak was powerful enough to crush boulders) , and his wings, despite their delicate appearance, are quite durable. Rodan can lift creatures several times his weight, for instance, Godzilla. Rodan also usually has spikes on his head and chest, which he may use in battle. He also could emit a blast of wind from his mouth in the 1956 movie, but this concept was never used again. In Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, Rodan, as Fire Rodan, develops the ability to emit a radioactive heat beam from his mouth called his uranium heat beam, after exposure to Godzilla and a radioactive waste disposal site. Rodan is also shown to withstand Godzilla's atomic breath. They showed that concept in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. in the Game Boy Advance video game Godzilla: Domination, the aerial terror can release a radioactive mist from specialized glands located in his torso area for two seconds, which, if it connects, can score up to three hits against the opponent. It can also be noted that this Rodan sports an "atomic heat ray" which in fact, resembles a fireball rather than an actual ray.

Okey...you know you'd find this from I guy anywhere, but look at 'em! look at the size of their head and mouth! OMG that's crazy. That would be impossible for them to even think! Their eyes take up most of their face!

So I have sisters, so I've seen many mlp stuff, and this is a complete reboot. A COMPLETE reboot.

So I just have to say, they might as well be shown as a monster.

Ok, mlp will not be at the end of the line. ZILLA IS THE WORST OF ALL MONSTERS(other that king kong, in my opinion)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is supposed to be godzilla, but he completely every thing but godzilla! He's not big enough, he doesn't blow fire breath, and he is freaking peaceful! Did you hear that? PEACEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't mean any hard, and should I mention he runs from the army? From normal bullets! And they kill him with misscles! The point in godzilla is that he's supposed to be unstoppable! And guess what? He lasted an entire movie of running until he FINALLY STARTS ACTING VIOLENT AND IS CAUSING REAL DAMAGE!!!!! Then...............he dies by misscles.
